Vintage, a hell in Maastricht and a heaven in Utrecht

I went to Maastricht last week for a couple of days. Maastricht is a small, very old en burgundian city. I was really looking forward to go shopping there. You probably know by now that I love vintage shopping. So I was excited to see some vintage stores in Maastricht where I never been before. Sorry to tell you but it was awful! Every vintage store in town was extremely overpriced! It was like four times more expensive than you can find in city’s like Amsterdam, Antwerp and Utrecht. Not even speaking about vintage heaven Berlin. It was very disappointing.

Good thing that Maastricht has a lot more to offer than vintage shopping. The very old buildings, churches and lovely squares give you a warm feeling.  You can see me at the Basiliek St. Servaas looking for treasures in the pictures above. That was a nice cultural thing to do. But still, me as a vintage queen was a bit cranky about the vintage shopping. So I jumped in the car to Utrecht to make up for he disappointment in vintage shopping at Maastricht. Oh boy Utrecht made everything right again. There is this store called Episode who also has two stores in Amsterdam and other places. I found the most amazing things there at a reasonable price. Next to the store is a little but very nice lunchroom. The lunchroom is called VERS which translates to fresh in English. It is at the canal called Oudegracht 212 in Utrecht. You can see me sit there in the picture below. Episode and Vers are a must when you’re visiting Utrecht!
