Win, win, winning a SPRDLX bag workshop!

As you all may have noticed I’m the muse of Anita Stam and her label SPRDLX (SuPeRDeLuXe). She recently started to make her own handcrafted leather bags (since 2012) next to the cushions and other accessories she already makes. All her products are very well thought through and are very sustainable. Because the leather the bags are made of is a product of nature it forms and changes and becomes even more beautiful when you’re using it. Just these reasons alone make it so fantastic to own one of the SPRDLX bags. It is even more fantastic to fabric your own bag! You get a good insight of how the process of making a handcrafted leather bag works. From it just being a piece of leather and forming it into a real handcrafted leather bag.

So to know what we are actually giving away to you guys I went to one of the workshops and made my own clutch. The workshop starts with a cup of tea and a talk with Anita about her label. That is when you already get a good feeling about why she is so passionate about the leather bags. After the tea you get to choose what kind of bag or clutch you want to make, which color and what kind of leather you want to use. When you have finally decided what you are going to make, which is the hardest part, she shows you how to cut the leather. After you cut the leather yourself with the help of a model you have to glue the pieces of leather together. Anita will finally sew it together for you while you are enjoying a delicious lunch. After the lunch you get the chance to add some accessories to your bag and voilà you’re done!
